Are your Products food safe?


As you would expect, our products meet or exceed food safety testing. All our products are tested and must pass independent international laboratory testing before we can label our products 'food safe.'

In order to meet the requirements of the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and the Consumer Product Safety Council (CPSC), we use an independent third party to test and certify that our products comply with product safety requirements.

Can I Sterilize?

We do not recommend sterilizing your products in a traditional steam sterilizer as the extreme heat will reduce the lifetime of your bamboo products.

However, we can recommend using products like Milton's Sterilizing Wipes.

Are these products dishwasher safe?


We may be tempted to run everything through the dishwasher, but some items just aren't supposed to be subjected to our miracle machine. Aside from bamboo, avoid putting wood, copper, cast-iron, delicate glassware, and other non dishwasher safe items in the dishwasher. Wood splits and cracks when exposed to dishwasher temperatures, humidity, and water. Delicate glassware can break in a dishwasher, making for a big mess to clean up. Some metals like cast-iron and copper are not meant to be washed in the dishwasher and can become damaged as well as cause damage to other dishes.

Can these items be used in the microwave?


Our products are hand-wash only and not suitable for the microwave as the extreme heat can reduce the lifetime of your product.

Do your products contain any Toxins or chemicals?


All of the materials used in the production of our Bamboo Bowls
are considered 'zero toxic' In other words, they contain no toxic air contaminants or hazardous air pollutants of any kind. In fact, the materials in our sealants that by definition are considered VOC’s are the same ingredients used throughout the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries with wide-ranging regulatory approvals.

How do I prolong the life of my products?

Your StarKiddo products are designed to last a lifetime, but much like any other product made from nature, it does require your care.

Handle with care
Probably an obvious one, but yes, unfortunately, our products are not immune to heavy falls or repeated knocks, this will cause cracks, splits or scuff the bowls and may render them unsafe to use.

Extend the lifetime: Oiling your bamboo products keeps the wood supple and moisturised.

Think of it as your skin: the more it's exposed to the elements (water), the more it becomes scaly and dry, eventually leading to cracking and splitting.

A generous application of oil conditions the wood, and repeated application saturates the layers, keeping the wood resilient and providing a natural lustre.

Washing and storing: 
Our products are hand-wash only and not suitable for the dishwasher or microwave. The good news is bamboo is naturally antibacterial and microbial so warm soapy water is all you need.

When washing please be sure to remove the silicone ring when drying so that the product can be dried in full. Much like any other natural product exposed to the elements of water and air over an extended time, you do not want to encourage mildew by leaving your products wet or soaked for prolonged periods.


How to oil my products?

How to oil and maintain your bamboo products in only 5 Minutes a Month

Follow these tip and you'll have a wonderful range of bamboo products that will last you for ages!

Why do it?
Think of it like your skin: the more it's exposed to the elements (water), the more it becomes scaly and dry, eventually leading to cracking and splitting. A generous application of oil conditions the wood, and repeated application saturates the layers, keeping the wood resilient and providing a natural luster.

How do I remove any stains?

Act as soon as possible - just like with blood or ink stains, the
quicker you treat the stain: the easier it will be to remove. A biological laundry detergent, like Persil Small & Mighty Bio, that contains enzymes to help break down stains is ideal for pre-treating wooden surfaces that are stained with foods like curry or turmeric.

Remember to test any stain removal method on a small, inconspicuous area of the stained item first to check there is no adverse reaction.

1. Mix water and bicarbonate of soda together to form a paste. 
2. Apply it to the stain, and rub gently with a soft cloth. 
3. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

How do I remove smells?

Bamboo is remarkably and naturally odorless and tasteless.
However, in rare cases you may find much like other materials it may hold on to the smell of last night supper especially if the ingredients are quite strong or pungent.

Step 1. Wash with hot soapy water. Wash after each use with hot soapy water and rinse.

Step 2. Rub with salt and lime (or lemon) Pour a small pile of salt in the bamboo (1 Tablespoon). Cut a lemon or lime in half, and squeeze out a bit of the juice till the salt dissolves a bit and is spreadable. Scrub with the lime all around for a few minutes and rinse. Then repeat on the other side. The lime is helpful for removing odor, and has anti-microbial properties to keep some bacteria from growing in the board. The salt is an abrasive scrub, and it draws moisture out preventing any bacteria build up any further smells.

Step 3. Rub with baking soda to remove any lingering smell

If your bowl smells fresh after the salt and lime, then you’re done! If it still smells at all, then add 1-2 Tablespoons of baking soda with some water and make a paste and rub the paste all over, let sit for a minute, and then rinse.

Will your products work with my surface?

Our suction plates adhere best to smooth, non-porous surfaces such as plastic, tile, glass, fiberglass or metal. High chairs or wooden surfaces that are textured, porous or have slight curves will make it difficult to achieve lasting suction power.

To ensure a firm bond, surfaces should be totally free of dirt and soap film before attaching the plate.

The suction ring should be completely flush to the base of the bowl or plate, to prevent air suction loss, causing the plate to rise.

Product has lost suction power ?

The silicone grip on our bowls and plates do not loose suction over time. However, there have been occasions where customers report that they feel the suction grip has lost power.

We spent a great deal of time researching this and learned that sometimes oil from dish soaps and washing liquids can stick to the surface of the silicone causing them to loose suction with a surface.

To remove the soapy oil, rub a cut lemon or lime all over the silicone and let it sit for 10mins. Then rinse it off with hot water. It doesn’t have to be a brand new, freshly cut fruit either. A half used or squeezed one will do.


How to remove any odors from silicone ?

The idea of being 100% plastic free really appeals to us, particularly when it comes to children's products

Like bamboo, silicone is one of the most desirable materials (besides glass) for use when feeding children. You may sometimes notice a distinct smell and these smells that sometimes occur are actually the result of food oils and washing detergents clinging to one another, it is not the silicone material itself. This is because there are no chemicals added into the formula to make the silicone rigid.

There are several methods to reduce and remove the smell:

1. Lemon Juice is a good solution to use when washing the silicone (not necessary all the time as not all foods will cause the silicone to smell - but if it does, washing with lemon greatly helps and it is safe).

2. Baking soda is another product to use. You can wash the silicone product with it when smells are noticed.

3. Boiling the silicone for 2-3 minutes after cleaning will also eliminate the smell.

4. Baking in the oven for 2 hours at 200F/93C will eliminate the smell.

Are these products dishwasher safe?

Yes (Top rack friendly)

Although all our silicone parts are dishwasher safe, dishwasher detergent can sometimes leave a smell. We recommend using mild washing up liquids that do not contain fragrances or additives, this also helps to reduce the incidence of smells.

Can I sterilize ?

Yes , You can sterilize for 2-3 Minutes.


Can I change the details I have used to personalize a product once I have placed an order?

Due to the personalized nature of the products, orders once placed cannot be cancelled or changed. If you do wish to cancel/amend your order, please email us on hello@starkiddo.shop and we will try our best to cancel it if production hasn’t started.

Can I return or exchange Personized item I bought?

Since our products are personalized
and we have created an item especially for you we do not allow exchanges or returns for any of our products. Please refer to our Shipping & Returns Policy for more details.

Is there a limit on the number of characters when I personalize a product?

For certain products we cannot
accommodate too many characters, as the space for the name is limited and therefore a character limit is applicable. Often the final look depends on the length of the name/text entered.

Will I get a preview of what my personalized product will look like?

Our website currently does not offer this service; however, we have tried our best to provide images which are a close representation of the actual product. You can be rest assured that our design team will take utmost care to ensure that your product matches the image you see.


How do I track my order?

Once your order has been dispatched we will send a notification via email with tracking information.

I need to change something on my order, how can I do that?

If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us immediately. If your order has not been processed yet we will make the change or cancel your order. However, if it has already been
processed then we will not be able to make any changes.

If I want to order in bulk of a particular item how can I do so?

If you would like to place a bulk order, please click on the ‘Gifting’ tab on the footer and select BULK orders and fill the details. I need to change something on my order, how can I do that ?

If you need to change or cancel your order, please contact us immediately. If your order has not been processed yet we will make the change or cancel your order. However, if it has already been processed then we will not be able to make any changes.


Can I return the item I bought?

Star Kiddo offers its customers an ’Easy return policy’, If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, where in you can raise a return/exchange request of a product within 14 days of its delivery. To be eligible for a return and full refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must be in the original packaging.

Note: Personized products cannot be return.

Can I return part of my order?

Yes. A return can be created at item
level and if you have ordered multiple items, you can initiate a
return/replacement/refund for any individual item. However, any product being returned needs to be in the original packaging with its seals, labels, and bar codes intact.

Can I return a product that was purchased with a gift card?

Yes. If you have used a gift card to make a purchase and then wants to return the item for a refund, then the amount is automatically updated to the same gift card.

Can I Exchange the item I bought?

If there is a manufacturing fault with any product you are welcome to exchange but note the product must have original packaging, price tags,labels, freebies. Product fault must
be reported within 14 days of purchase, since anything longer than this is near enough impossible for us to determine that the issue derives from a product fault and not customer usage.


Can I change my shipping address after the order has been dispatched?

This is not possible on StarKiddo and unfortunately; logistic carriers worldwide do not entertain such a requests either. However,do ensure that your shipping address entered is correct in order to prevent delays.

What packaging will my order be shipped in?

Your order will be delivered to you wrapped in bubble paper either in a cardboard box, envelope or a tamper-proof bag depending on the size of the package. We will make every effort to ensure that your package reaches you safely and does not get damaged during transit.
